The short answer
Two questions settle a Whirlpool washer leak: which format you have, and when in the cycle the water appears. A front-load machine has a door boot and a pump filter that a top-load does not, and the phase — fill, wash, drain or spin — narrows the list further than any amount of looking under the machine.

Replacing hose washers, clearing a boot fold, reseating a filter cap and securing a drain hose are owner work. Call a technician when water appears during wash or spin with the boot and hoses confirmed sound, since the tub seal is next; and when the machine is also noisy at spin, which points at the bearing.
