What this usually is
The usual cause on this unit is a machine out of level or a misaligned door, with a door gasket that is dirty, set or displaced next. Neither needs a part, and both are visible once you know where to look. Stop using it until you know where the water is coming from: a slow leak under a kitchen unit does damage you cannot see.
What you are looking at
- Suds creeping out along the bottom of the door — Too much detergent, or the wrong kind entirely.
- Water appearing from under the machine, not the door — That is a hose, the pump housing or the tub, not the door.
- NEAR MISS: the floor is dry but the dishes are wet and dirty — Read the cleaning page instead.
What it usually turns out to be, in order
- A machine out of level or a misaligned door — A dishwasher leaning forward puts the water line above the bottom of the door seal. A door that has dropped on its hinges does the same on one side only. It leads the list on a VIVOHOME dishwasher because it explains a leak from one corner rather than all round, and it is an installation fault rather than a failure.
- A door gasket that is dirty, set or displaced — The gasket runs round the door or the tub opening. Next, and for a closely related reason: it is the only seal on the machine that is opened and closed every day, and it is the one that collects food.
- Water being sprayed straight at the door seal — A tall item stopping a spray arm, or a broken arm end, can send a jet at one spot on the door instead of round the tub. Third: it is the cause that explains an intermittent leak, and an intermittent leak is the hardest kind to catch any other way.
- A failed tub, sump or pump seal — The seal where the motor shaft enters the sump, or a split in the tub itself, leaks only when the machine is running and under pressure. Bottom of the list, deliberately: everything above it is free, visible and far more likely, and this one is the only parts job on the list.
What to check first, second, third
- Put a level across the top of the door frame and along the tub — A leak at one corner with a machine off level has explained itself.
- Run a finger right round the gasket and look for debris or a section out of its channel — Grease and soil on the sealing face is the commonest single cause.
- Note whether the leak follows particular loads — A leak that depends on how the machine is loaded is a spray problem, not a seal problem.
Owner-side checks, step by step
- Level the machine with its adjustable feet, front to back and side to side — Check the door closes evenly against the tub with no gap at either bottom corner.

- Wash the door gasket and the face it seals against with warm soapy water, and press any displaced section back into its channel — Check the whole run, including the bottom corners where it always starts.

Read this before you touch it
Safety
Switch off at the breaker and shut the stop valve before any of this. The heater in the base stays hot for a long time after the last cycle. There is more broken glass in a dishwasher sump than anyone expects, so look before you reach, and use a cloth. The door latch is an interlock: it does not get taped, wedged or bypassed.
The line between a fix and a service call
Call once the gasket is clean and seated, the detergent is right, the machine is level and the hose connections are dry, because what is left is the sump or the tub. Call straight away if the machine trips a breaker, if water has reached a socket, or if the plinth and floor are already swollen.
