The answer first
A freezer has no water supply, so water around one is either melted frost or condensation. On this cabinet the first suspect is cabinet out of level, so the drain does not fall.
What you observe
- Water pooling in the bottom of the cabinet — A blocked defrost drain, or frost that has thawed and not drained.
- A puddle on the floor at the front — Water has run forward from the cabinet floor or the drain.
- Water running down the outside of the cabinet — Condensation on the shell rather than a leak at all.
- NEAR MISS — water only around an ice maker or a water line — That belongs to the refrigerator side of the appliance, not the freezer cabinet.
Causes, most likely first on a Signature Kitchen Suite freezer
- Cabinet out of level, so the drain does not fall — Out of level, the lid or door also stops sealing squarely, which adds condensation to the problem. Ranked first on a Signature Kitchen Suite freezer: it is the cause that makes the other causes worse, and it is fixed with a spanner.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the freezer or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is down. Do not chip or pry at frost: on a chest freezer the tubing is moulded into the wall and a puncture releases the refrigerant. Warm air and patience are the only safe tools. Empty the cabinet into coolers before you move it, and mind a heavy lid.
When to call a technician
Owner work here is the drain opening, the seal, the levelling and the pan. A drain blocked beyond its opening, or a leak that is neither frost nor condensation, is a technician's job. Use an installer or technician authorised for the line: panelled and integrated machines can be damaged by the removal itself, and the trim and hinge hardware is specific to the family.
