The short answer
Water inside a small Kinbor cabinet is almost always condensate that could not reach its drain hole: the hole at the back of the compartment blocks with a label, a crumb or a plug of ice, and the water then runs forward. Check that hole first — it is a five-minute job with no tools. Where these usually stand, the room is the variable that moves most, so start there rather than inside the unit.
What you observe
- Water only after a hot day or heavy use — More melt than the drain path can carry away.
- A puddle appears at the front, under the door — Water that has run forward from inside rather than from a pipe.
- NEAR MISS — water plus a warm cabinet — Read the page for a cabinet that will not cool; this page assumes it is still cooling.
Causes, most likely first on a Kinbor refrigerator
- Drain hole in the compartment blocked — Id: blockedhole — Small cabinets drain condensate through a single hole at the back of the compartment. A label, a crumb or a plug of ice closes it and the water runs forward instead. It ranks first here because it is both the commonest finding on this kind of unit and the cheapest one to rule out.
- Door not sealing, so humid air keeps coming in — Id: doorseal — Second: every bit of warm air that gets past a tired gasket arrives with moisture, and that moisture becomes the water you are mopping up.
- Condensation from humid air — Id: condensation — Third: warm humid air meeting a cold surface leaves water. In a damp room this is a daily event and it is not a fault in the cabinet at all.
- Cabinet out of level, so water runs the wrong way — Id: level — Fourth, and less common: drains rely on gravity. A cabinet tipped forward, or settled on a soft floor, sends condensate to the door instead of to the drain.
Check in this order, and why
- Find the small drain hole at the back of the compartment — A plug of ice or a label across it is the whole fault. It comes first because the cause it tests is the one ranked first above.
- Close the door on a strip of paper and pull — It should drag everywhere; where it slides free is where the moisture comes in. It follows because the cause it tests is the one ranked second above.
- Note whether it happens only in humid weather — That timing identifies condensation without any other test. It follows because the cause it tests is the one ranked third above.
What an owner can safely check
- Mop it dry, lay kitchen paper, and see where it wets first — That single step tells you which side of the unit the water comes from.
Tools: paper towelAbout 15 min
- Move it somewhere cooler for a day and compare — A few degrees of room temperature change what a small unit can hold.
About 30 min
- Flush the drain outlet with warm water from inside — Warm water shifts most blockages; anything sharp will hole the liner.
Tools: warm water, turkey basterAbout 30 min
- Prove the seal, then take the lean out of the unit — The seal makes the water; the lean decides where it goes.
Tools: spirit levelAbout 20 min
- STOP HERE if the next step is a panel off or a fitting on the supply line — Live panels and pressurised fittings are where owner checks end.
Before you open anything
Safety
Water and electricity share this cabinet: switch it off at the breaker before mopping anything behind or underneath it, and never reach behind a wet panel with the power on. Close the supply valve before touching any water fitting. Clear a frozen drain with warm water only — never with a sharp tool, which will puncture the liner and turn a free fix into a new cabinet.
When to call a technician
Call when the drain has been cleared, the seal proven and the cabinet levelled and water keeps returning — at that point the leak is behind a panel or on the supply side. Call immediately if the water is coming from a fitting rather than from inside: that leak does not stop by itself and it damages a floor while you decide. Parts come from the seller listing, so the model has to be read off the rating plate before ordering.

What this page does not cover
This page covers Kinbor refrigerators as a class, not one family or model line. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit, that page is the more specific answer. Not here: drain routing diagrams, part numbers and fitting sizes. It is small beverage and personal cabinets rather than kitchen refrigerators.
