The short answer
H2O is documented as the machine not detecting water. The cycle asked for a fill and the control never saw the tub reach the level it expected, so it stops rather than running the wash motor dry. The cause is upstream of the machine as often as it is inside it.

What you observe, and what to record
- The cycle stops early with a dry or nearly dry tub — The plain version of this code.
- Whether the display shows anything besides the code — A second code, a flashing indicator or a missing segment is information the code number alone does not carry.
- Whether the ${A} still does everything else it should — What still works narrows the search as effectively as what does not, and it is the question a technician asks first.
Causes, most likely first on this dishwasher
- The supply valve is closed or part-closed — First: it is the commonest cause by a distance and it costs nothing to check. A valve left part-closed after any work under the sink restricts the fill enough to fail the check.
- A blocked inlet screen at the fill valve — Second: the small mesh at the hose connection catches grit and scale, and it is the classic cause after plumbing work disturbs the pipes.
- A kinked or crushed fill hose — Third: pushing the machine back into its space traps the hose against the wall, invisibly from the front.
Check in this order, and why
- Check the supply valve under the sink is fully open — Free, immediate, and right more often than anything else here.
- Listen at the start of a cycle for water entering — Silence points upstream; a trickle points at a restriction.
- Check the fill hose behind the machine for kinks — Pull the machine out gently and look with a torch.
What an owner can safely check
- Open the supply valve fully — Right open, then back a fraction. A part-open valve passes water too slowly to satisfy a timed fill.
About 5 min
- Photograph the display with the code showing — Codes are easy to transcribe wrongly and a photograph is not. It also timestamps the fault, which matters if it becomes intermittent.
About 5 min
- Check the fill hose for kinks behind the machine — Only as far out as the hoses allow, and with a torch.
Tools: torchAbout 20 min
- Keep a short log of when the code appears — Date, what the dishwasher was doing, and how long it had been running. Two entries make a pattern; one does not.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. The inlet is under house pressure, so shut the supply valve under the sink before any hose or valve comes apart, and put a towel down: the sump gives up its water as soon as it is disturbed.
When to call a technician
Call once the supply is fully open, the hose is clear and the inlet screen is clean, and the machine still reports no water. That leaves the fill valve or the level sensing, both of which are inside the machine. Call a plumber instead if there is no pressure at the kitchen tap either — that is a supply problem rather than an appliance one.

What this page does not cover
This page reads H2O for Jenn-Air dishwashers in general, from the manufacturer's shared code index. A code can be documented differently for one family, so where a model-line page exists for your unit it is the more specific answer and is linked below. Not here: wiring colours, connector positions and part numbers, which differ by family.
