The short answer
Read where the moisture forms before deciding what has failed. On a Hotpoint refrigerator, condensation along the whole top edge is a door not pulling square — cabinet tilt or sag. Frost at one point is a gasket that has hardened along that run. Both produce the same complaint and need completely different work, and one of them is free.

- wash the gasket and the cabinet face and dry both. — Because: a film on either surface mimics a failed gasket exactly.

Switch the unit off at its breaker before removing any hinge cover, and never chip frost inside with a metal tool, since the liner and the evaporator behind it puncture easily. A refrigerator door is heavier than it looks and should not be lifted off its hinges single-handed.

Levelling, cleaning the gasket, emptying bins and mapping the seal are owner work.
