The short answer
On a countertop dishwasher the most common leak is not at the machine at all. It is at the faucet adapter, where a threaded fitting has replaced the aerator on the kitchen tap, and a missing washer or a mismatched thread there weeps down the tap and along the counter. Where the service line falls
Water appears underneath the machine with a dry door front and dry hose connections, which points at the sump or the tub.
