- Mixing or inlet valve not opening the hot side — Third in order: the valve that blends hot and cold can fail on one side only, which gives warm-when-it-should-be-hot rather than a total failure.

- Run the laundry hot tap, then check which hose is on which valve — Feel both hoses during fill: the hot one should warm in your hand within a minute.
