Condensate faults on an Elisii appliance announce themselves as a cycle that stops early with a tank warning, or water appearing in the base or on the floor. The water has already been removed from the clothes; the machine simply cannot get rid of it. That makes this one of the more owner-fixable faults on the appliance.
What owners actually observe
- A gurgling noise near the end of the cycle — A condensate pump working against a restriction.
- Water standing in the base or in the filter housing — The condensate is reaching the sump and not leaving it.
- A full-tank indicator lit although the tank is empty — A float or a sensor that is stuck, or a sump that is not clearing into the tank.
- NEAR MISS: a vented machine with no tank at all — Vented dryers have no condensate to drain: the moisture leaves as warm air. If there is no tank and no drain hose, this page does not apply.
The ranking that matters
- Drain hose kinked, too high, or pushed too far into the waste — First, and by a clear margin: a condensate pump can only lift so far, and a hose routed over a worktop or pushed deep into a standpipe defeats it.
- Condensate pump blocked or failing — Next in order: a pump that hums without moving water is an obstruction first and a failure second.
- Condenser filter or sump blocked with lint — Third: lint that passes the door filter settles in the condenser and the sump, and once it mats it holds water instead of passing it on.
Where to start, and what follows
- Check the hose height and route against the manual — Lower is better, and a gentle fall to the waste is ideal.
- Listen for the pump near the end of a cycle — A hum with no water movement is the handover point to a technician.
- Find, remove and rinse the secondary or condenser filter — Check the sump beneath it too: matted lint there holds water by itself.

- Find and rinse the condenser or secondary filter — Usually behind the lower panel or under the door filter.

- STOP HERE if the tank, filters and hose are clear and it still will not drain — The pump and the level sensing sit inside the cabinet on mains wiring, and that is where the owner side ends.

Safety
Condensate is dirty water with lint in it and it ends up on a laundry floor: switch the machine off before mopping, and dry the area fully. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, because a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. When this becomes a service call
Tank, filters, sump and hose routing are all owner work, and together they account for most condensate complaints. Pumps and sensors are not. Say on the phone whether the machine is plumbed to a drain or uses its tank, because the two installations fail differently.
