An Elisii unit holding water is the most owner-fixable fault on the machine. The same four places account for nearly all of it, and only one of them needs a technician. Work the path from the inside out, and do not re-run a cycle to see whether it clears, because a blocked machine pushes water onto the floor instead.
What owners actually observe
- The machine drains slowly but does drain — A partial blockage, and the easiest kind to clear before it becomes total.
- Smell developing within a day of the water standing — Stagnant sump water turns quickly, which is why this fault should not wait.
- Water standing in the base at the end of every cycle — A constant residue means a restriction rather than an intermittent fault.

What is usually behind it, in order
- Drain hose kinked, crushed or clogged — Top of the list: the hose has to rise, fall and squeeze behind the cabinet, and debris settles at its low point while furniture flattens its bends.
- Waste connection, air gap or high loop wrong — Next in order: it earns an early place because documentation for this badge is thin and the install is rarely checked and because it explains dirty water returning to the tub rather than simply failing to leave.
- Filter and sump blocked — Third: it is the designed trap for debris and it is the only part intended to be cleaned by the owner.
The order of checks, and why
- Trace the hose as far as you can see and feel for a flat section — A crushed or sharply bent hose explains a slow drain completely, and it needs no parts.
- Look at where the drain joins the waste and how high it rises first — No high loop or air gap means the machine will keep taking water back whatever else is fixed.
- Bail the tub, lift out the filter and clear the sump — Gloves on.
