What this usually means
When a cycle on an Elisii appliance never completes, the phase it dies in is the diagnosis. Stalling with water in the tub is drainage.
Symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- It stops and beeps or raises a code — The code names the unmet condition, which saves you a guess.
- It stops dry and early, with no fill sound at all — Water never arrived, so look at the service valve and the inlet.
- It stops with water standing in the base — A drain condition, and usually the filter or the drain hose rather than the pump.
- It pauses for a long time, then resumes — Adaptive cycles extend themselves; a long pause is not always a stall.
- NEAR MISS: it never starts at all and the panel is dark — That is a start fault rather than a cycle fault: check the outlet, the switched fuse and the latch first.
Causes, most likely first
- Blocked drain path: filter, sump, hose or waste connection — First, and by a clear margin: a machine that cannot empty refuses to advance, and the blockage is almost always in the part an owner can reach.
- Restricted fill: service valve, kinked hose or inlet screen — Second most likely here: it costs nothing to check and it explains a stall that happens dry and early.
- Board or sensor misreporting a condition — Less often, third: a sensor that lies produces a stall with nothing actually wrong, and a board that loses a step does the same, but both are diagnosed by elimination and measurement.
Where to start, and what follows
- Check whether water is standing in the base when it stalls — Standing water means this is the condition.
- Open the service valve fully and straighten the hose — Then listen for a confident fill.
- Note the exact phase and any code, then stop — This is where the owner evidence becomes the technician starting point.

Treat a stall that survives a cleared drain path and a proven fill as a service call, and expect the conversation to be about the pump or the heat circuit.
