Water from an Electrolux freezer is defrost water that has found the wrong route, not water coming from anywhere else, and the commonest reason is a drain that has iced or clogged. Two of the causes below are owner work and the rest are worth a visit.
The symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- A sheet of ice growing on the cabinet floor — The same blockage, freezing where it stands.

Safety
Unplug the freezer or switch off its breaker before removing any panel or reaching past the liner: a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip ice off an evaporator with anything metal, because the tubing is soft and a puncture ends the appliance. A full chest freezer is very heavy, so empty it before moving it.
Where an owner fix ends
Call when the drain is clear, the cabinet is level and the seal is sound, and water still arrives: what is left is the drain tube behind the liner, the pan or the defrost control. Call sooner if water is reaching an outlet or an extension lead, because that is the part of this fault that is actually dangerous.
