Water on the kitchen floor has four or five possible origins in this machine, and the door line, the supply joint and the pump seal each leave a different signature. On an Electrolux dishwasher the order that matters is this: "Suds overflow" first, then the rest of the list below. The observables
- Foam visible in the tub or on the floor — Suds, not a seal. Whether it happens constantly or in bursts changes the answer.
- A drip that starts partway through the wash — It needs pressure in the tub to appear.

Safety first, and it is not a formality

An Electrolux dishwasher is not a special case here, and the rule is the same as for every appliance in its class. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not keep resetting a protective device that has tripped; it is doing its job and the fault is still there. Turn the water off at the stop valve before touching a hose or a fitting. No check on this page requires the machine to be running with a panel removed.
When this becomes a service call
