The short answer
A Coyote cabinet that has stopped producing ice is more often obeying something than failing at it, whether that is a raised arm, a warm setting or a specification that never included freezing. On this class the usual cause is a freezer compartment too warm to complete a harvest, with the water supply to the unit shut off or kinked next to rule out.
What you actually observe
- Ice keeps up in spring and fails in high summer — A seasonal pattern points at capacity rather than at a part.
- The bin stays empty day after day — A unit that makes nothing at all is a different list from one making poor ice.
- NEAR MISS: the whole cabinet is warm and the ice is only the first thing you noticed — Then the cooling page is the one to read, because ice is simply the most sensitive symptom.
The causes, most likely first on this brand
- A freezer compartment too warm to complete a harvest — An ice maker only ejects when the mould reaches its harvest temperature, so a freezer running warm simply holds a tray of water indefinitely. - Trace the supply line from the cabinet back to its shut-off valve — A closed valve or a flattened line is visible and it ends the diagnosis in one step.
- Look at the fill tube where it enters the ice maker — A plug of ice at the mouth of the tube is visible with a torch and without removing anything.
What an owner can safely check
- Set the freezer colder and leave it a full day before judging — A harvest that restarts on a colder setting was never an ice maker fault at all.

Safety
Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off, and close the water shut-off before disturbing any fitting on the supply line. Never thaw a fill tube with a heat gun or an open flame, because the liner and the tubing behind it will not survive it. Never chip ice from a plate or a mould with a tool.
When to call a technician
Call once the supply, the temperature and the simple mechanical checks are all clean, because a fill valve or an ice maker module needs a meter and a panel off. Call sooner if you find water where it should not be, since a supply fault that leaks costs more the longer it runs. Bear in mind when you decide that an outdoor-rated unit is built into an enclosure, and pulling it is the largest part of the job.
