The short answer
A Coyote refrigerator that runs without cooling is almost never the compressor, whatever the noise suggests. On this class the fault is usually blocked clearance or recirculated warm air around the cabinet, with an ambient temperature outside what the unit was designed for next to rule out, and both are visible to an owner in minutes.
What you actually observe
- It holds temperature at night and loses it every afternoon — A daily cycle that tracks the sun points outside the cabinet.
- The cabinet is warm while the unit is clearly running — The compressor hum is there and the air inside is not cold, which rules out a dead unit immediately.

When to call a technician
Call once the owner checks come back clean, or the moment the evidence points at the sealed system: refrigerant work is licensed work. Call immediately if you smell burning or see oil at the compressor, because that means the system is open and every further running hour makes the repair worse.
