What no ice means on the CCRR line
Poor ice and no ice are different faults. No ice at all points at supply, the switch or a compartment that is far too warm. Small, hollow or slow cubes point at restricted flow — a filter, a partly frozen line, or a valve that is not opening fully. The CCRR line covers twelve model numbers, all listed in the table below. Check the rating plate inside the door before you order a part, because the family name alone will not get you the right one.
What you actually observe
- No ice at all, compartment otherwise cold — Supply, the on/off arm or the module. The cold side is proven, so look at water first.
- Small, hollow or misshapen cubes — Restricted fill. A filter, a partly frozen fill tube or a valve that is not opening fully.
- Ice comes slowly and tastes stale — Low throughput and long dwell. Usually the same restriction, plus cubes sitting too long in the bin.
- Cubes fused into a single block — Melting and refreezing, which points at compartment temperature or a door that is not sealing.
- NEAR MISS — water pooling under the unit as well — That is a leak, and it has its own page for this family.
What no ice turns out to be
- Something switched off — First, because it costs nothing: the bail arm, the setting, an energy-saving mode, or a supply valve turned off during other work and never turned back on.
- Something frozen — Second: the fill tube, the line where it passes through a cold section, or the mould itself if the maker has overfilled.
- Something restricted — Third: a filter overdue, a kinked line behind the cabinet, or an inlet valve that opens partially and gives small hollow cubes.
- Something failed — Last: the module, its thermostat or its motor. A real cause, but the least likely of the four on a cabinet that was making ice recently.
Check in this order, and why that order
- Prove the cold side first — Firm ice cream and no ice means water or the maker. Soft ice cream and no ice means the cooling fault is the page you want.
- Confirm the arm and the setting — Seconds to check and the most-missed cause on the whole list.
- Watch which stage fails — Fills but never harvests, harvests but never fills, or does nothing. Each sends a technician to a different part.
- Stop at the valve and the module — Both are measured on a live appliance behind panels, and on a compact cabinet both are worth more than a season of ice.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not thaw a frozen fill tube with a heat gun, a hair dryer on full or boiling water poured into the compartment: the plastic distorts, and a distorted tube leaks into the cabinet afterwards. If you close a household shut-off valve to work on the supply, open it again slowly and check the joint for weeping before pushing the cabinet back.

Where the owner line is on these models
Call when the water path is proven and the compartment is genuinely cold and the maker still will not produce. That means the shut-off open, the line uncrushed, the filter seated and in date, the fill tube clear, and ice cream that is firm. What remains is the inlet valve, the module, its motor or its thermostat, all behind a panel on a live appliance. Call sooner if you find water in the bin or under the cabinet, because a valve that weeps causes damage that outlasts the ice complaint. A technician will ask which of the twelve CCRR models you have before they set off, and the rating plate inside the cabinet is where that number lives.
