Disconnect power at the plug or the breaker before removing any panel, and give a capacitor the respect it earns: it can hold a charge with the appliance dead. Leave the sealed system alone entirely — the tubing carries refrigerant under pressure and needs recovery equipment, not hand tools. Nothing in the sealed circuit is an owner job: it is pressurised, and the law treats venting it as a violation in its own right.
When this stops being DIY
