Straight answer first
Only then is it worth looking for the source. Water appearing at the front under the door is usually the seal or the way it was loaded. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
What the owner sees and hears
- Water from underneath with nothing above — That points inside the cabinet — behind the panel.
- Water appears in the first minutes — Fill-step leaks point at the supply side.
- A puddle behind it — That is plumbing — a hose, a connection or the inlet valve.
- A section out of its channel — Seals are inexpensive parts.
- It leaks only at drain — A clamp that has loosened is a common and cheap answer.
- NEAR MISS — water inside after a cycle — That is a different page.
Causes, most likely first on the WQP line
- A level sensing fault — Close the water supply at the isolating valve immediately when this is suspected.
- The inlet or drain fitting — Recently disturbed connections are where clamps slip.
- The gasket hardened or out of its channel — A seal that has gone hard and shiny no longer compresses, and one pushed out of its channel leaves a direct path.
- The sump or pump seal failed — It ranks bottom because reaching it needs the machine opened, and a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
- Door alignment or latch — Sight along the closed door: a gap at one end gives it away.
The order to work in
- Check the gasket for splits and hardening — Clean it with a damp cloth first — grease produces the same leak.
- Switch it off and isolate it — Cut the power at the breaker if water has reached the outlet or the cord.
- Identify front, side, back or underneath — Do not run another cycle yet.
- Check how the machine was loaded — This causes more door leaks than failed seals do.
- Look for foam — Free, common, and easily missed.
