When ice production drops off, look at the fill side and the freezer temperature before the module is condemned. Run them in order and you will either restore production or know exactly which part to buy. What the owner sees
- A slab of ice has formed in the bin instead of cubes — Melt and refreeze, which points at harvest timing or a freezer that is drifting warm.

- You can hear the fill valve buzz but no water arrives — The valve is being told to open and either cannot, or the line beyond it is blocked with ice.

What to look at first

- Check the bin arm or sensor is clear and in its on position — The cheapest possible cause, and it is checked first for exactly that reason.
- Compare the display reading with a thermometer — A control acting on a wrong reading behaves perfectly while producing a fault, and only a thermometer exposes it.
What an owner can safely do
- Clean the inlet screen at the valve — Only with the water off and the line drained; sediment on the screen is a common and completely reversible restriction.

- Empty the bin completely and start it fresh — Old ice hides current production. An empty bin turns "no ice" into a measurable rate you can judge the next day.

- Clear a frozen fill tube with a warm damp cloth — Wrap the tube, wait, repeat. Do not use a metal tool or boiling water; both damage the plastic and make the next plug worse.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, and keep it unplugged while your hands are behind the rear cover: a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. A capacitor keeps a charge after the power is off, so treat the compressor terminals as energised until you have proved otherwise. Nothing in the sealed circuit is an owner job: it is pressurised, and the law treats venting it as a violation in its own right.
The line between fix and call
Call once the mould freezes hand-poured water but the valve still will not fill it: that is a valve or harness diagnosis, and it is made with a meter on an unplugged appliance. Where the remaining suspects all sit behind a panel, hand over instead of pressing on — the boundary exists for a reason.
