Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the machine or switch off its breaker before you remove a panel, and shut the water supply valves before you loosen a hose — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and a live supply hose empties a house main into a room. A stored charge outlives the power switch; a pressurised line outlives your patience. If the floor is already wet, deal with the breaker before you step in it.
When this stops being DIY
Report the exact indication when booking rather than describing it, because it usually decides which part the technician brings. Settings, resets, filters and taps are owner work; the panel and the harness are not. If two owner-side fixes have each worked briefly, stop repeating them: something upstream is driving the problem and it needs finding.
