Defrost the freezer box with time and an open door rather than with a heat gun or a blade - the box liner is thin, the evaporator is directly behind it, and both a puncture and a melted liner are unrepairable.
When to call a technician
Call when the freezer box is clear of frost, the seal drags on paper, the cabinet has air behind it, and the lower compartment still will not come down. Call at once if you smell burning, or if the freezer box is icing up again within days of a full defrost, because that pattern points at a seal or a control rather than at anything a defrost will fix.
