Check in this order, and why
- Close the water shutoff behind the cabinet — If the puddle stops growing, the fault is on the supply side and everything inside the cabinet can wait.
- Check the filter head and the cartridge collar — Most supply weeps start at a cartridge that was replaced, cross-threaded or does not match this head.
- Open the freezer floor and look for an ice sheet — A sheet under the drawers or the bin is the drain or the fill tube, and it is the evidence that survives after the floor has been mopped.
- Level the cabinet last — A forward tilt turns a small pan overflow into a floor puddle, so correct it once the real source is closed.
