Likely causes on this kind of machine
- A blocked or frozen defrost drain — The most common leak on any refrigerator. Drainage is where water that the machine made on purpose goes wrong, so it leads whenever water is the complaint.
- A door seal letting humid air in — Warm air meeting cold surfaces condenses. A cabinet that sweats internally is often reporting a gasket fault as a leak. First on a glass-door beverage cabinet: the door is heavy, the gasket is a thin magnetic strip, and a door left resting rather than latched is the single most common reason one of these stops holding temperature.
- Humidity beyond what the cabinet can manage — In a humid garage or an unconditioned room, condensation appears on and in a perfectly healthy unit. It leads on a cabinet this small because there is almost no reserve: the room it stands in sets what the machine can achieve.
- An unusually humid room — Garages and unconditioned rooms put far more water through the evaporator than the drain was designed to carry.
Where to start, and what each check rules out
- Follow the supply line with a dry tissue at every joint — A tissue finds a weep that an eye will not, and it names the fitting rather than the appliance.
- Pull the unit out and check the drip pan — Cracked, dislodged or overfull are all visible at a glance and all produce a floor puddle.
- Note how often the water appears — An interval of a day or two matches the defrost cycle and names the drain.
Step by step, as far as it is safe to go
- Flush the defrost drain from inside the cabinet — Find the drain opening at the back of the cabinet floor and flush it with warm water until it runs freely.

- Thaw a frozen drain rather than forcing it — Empty the freezer, switch the unit off and leave the doors open until the ice is gone.

- Close the supply valve if the water is behind the unit — Shutting the supply stops a plumbing leak immediately and tells you which side of the machine the water came from.
- STOP before removing the rear panel to reach the drain trough — A drain heater or a trough behind the evaporator means a panel and live terminals. That is a technician job.

Safety
Never force a rigid wire down a frozen drain: the tube behind it splits and turns a cheap job into an expensive one. Unplug the unit before working behind or beneath it.
When to call a technician
Call when the drain has been flushed and the water returns, when the leak is at a supply connection, or when there is water inside the cabinet walls. A persistent leak damages the floor faster than most owners expect.
