The short answer
E27 means the house power supply to the unit is too low, as the table records. The dishwasher is reporting on the electricity arriving rather than on anything inside it. That makes an electrician the right first call: the same condition is reaching every other appliance in the house, and it is worth understanding before it is dismissed.
Code table
Reference| code | meaning | owner-checkable |
|---|---|---|
| E27 | The house power supply to the unit is too low. | partly |
| E25 | An E25 error code indicates the drain pump is blocked or the drain pump cover is loose or missing. | see page |
| E3000 | There is a flow meter failure or an issue with water flowing into the dishwasher or the filling system. | see page |
What you observe
- The machine stops mid-cycle and posts the code — Supply sags under load, and the heaviest load is when the fault shows.
- Lights dim elsewhere at the same moment — Corroboration that the problem is the building, not the dishwasher.
- NEAR MISS — the machine is completely dead — No power at all is a breaker, plug or door-switch question rather than a low supply.
Likeliest causes first
- A shared circuit carrying too much — First: a dishwasher sharing a spur with other heavy loads sees the voltage fall each time one of them starts.
- A loose or corroded connection at the socket or board — Second: a poor connection drops voltage under load and heats up doing it, which makes it a hazard as well as a fault.
- A supply problem at the property — Last in the list but the most serious: a failing neutral or a sagging incomer affects everything in the house.
Check in this order
- Note what else was running each time the code appeared — A pattern tied to one appliance names the circuit without any instrument.
- Watch whether lights dim across the house — If they do, the problem is upstream of the kitchen entirely.
- Have the supply measured under load — A reading taken with nothing running proves nothing; this is an electrician’s measurement.
Owner-safe steps
- Switch the dishwasher off at its breaker or unplug it — Running on an out-of-range supply is what damages the electronics the code is protecting.
About 5 min
- Write down the time and what else was on, each occurrence — The pattern is the diagnosis, and it costs nothing to collect.
About 10 min
- STOP HERE — do not investigate the fixed wiring yourself — Sockets, spurs and boards are an electrician’s work.
Safety first
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. A dishwasher sits on a live circuit and a water supply at once: close the supply valve as well as the breaker, and expect standing water in the base of the tub.
When to call
Call an electrician rather than an appliance technician. The table says the supply to the unit is too low, and confirming or clearing that is a measurement at the board and at the socket with the load running. If the supply proves sound, the appliance side becomes the question and a technician takes over. Until then leave the machine isolated: a poor connection warms up under load long before it announces itself.
Neighbouring codes — E25 and E3000 appear beside E27 in the table and are recorded against different hardware — different questions with different answers. A shared prefix on this brand is not a shared fault.
What this page does not cover
This page is written for the Bosch dishwasher class rather than for one model line, and E27 is read exactly as the shared table records it. If your family or model has its own page, that page is the more specific answer and it is linked below — go there first when your model is named. Left out deliberately: connector positions, wiring colours and part numbers, which are family-specific.
