The short answer
A dryer that leaks water is normal on a ventless machine and alarming on a vented one — a Blomberg dryer collects every litre it removes from the laundry, so a leak means that water is escaping before it reaches the tank. The tank seat, the condensate channel and the optional drain hose are the three places to look.

Causes, most likely first
- The tank not seated fully — Why: if the tank is proud of its seat the pump discharges into the cabinet rather than into the tank, and this is the most common leak on a ventless dryer.
- A blocked condensate channel overflowing — Why: lint dams the channel behind the plinth filter and the water backs up and spills forward, which is why the leak is at the front.
- A drain hose kit fitted incorrectly — Why: a hose that is too high, kinked, or not pushed fully into its port lets the pump push water into the cabinet instead of the standpipe.
- A perished tank seal — Why: the seal at the tank seat hardens with heat over years and then weeps whenever the pump runs.
- Condensation escaping past the door seal — Why: a door seal distorted by an overloaded drum lets moist air out where it condenses on the cold door front and runs to the floor.
- A cracked sump or a failed pump housing — Why: least common, and it produces a leak that is present regardless of tank position or hose route.

- withdraw the tank, empty it, and push it firmly home; then run a cycle and see whether the floor stays dry.
- open the plinth, clear the filter and the condensate channel behind it, since a dammed channel spills forward.
- if a drain hose is fitted, check its height, its route and that it is fully seated in its port.
- if the machine still leaks with a seated tank, a clear channel and no hose, the fault is inside and needs a technician.
