The short answer
Start here. On this washer, slow draining is a restriction somewhere along the path, and restrictions build up gradually. The filter and the hose are owner work; a sink that drains badly on its own is a plumbing job rather than an appliance one.
What you actually see
- The machine stops mid-cycle with water in it — A cycle that halts rather than finishing usually means the machine gave up waiting to drain.
- Water drains very slowly rather than not at all — Slow is a restriction; none at all is a blockage or a pump that is not running.
- Clothes come out soaking after the spin — A load that is soaked rather than damp usually failed to drain before the spin.

- Drain hose kinked, too high or pushed too far into the sink — Then: a hose pushed too far into a drain siphons or airlocks, and one lifted too high asks the pump for more than it can give. Where this checks out clean, treat the next entry as the working theory rather than a possibility.
What to check, in order
- First — the pump filter — Close the water supply, put a shallow tray under the filter cover, and open it slowly. Clear everything out and rinse the filter.
- Second — the hose itself — Look at the inside of the hose end. A visible ring of residue is the start of what is further along.

- Step 1. Straighten and re-route the drain hose — Follow the hose end to end, remove every kink, and hook it over the sink edge rather than pushing it deep into the drain.

- Step 2. Test the sink or standpipe alone — Run the tap hard for a minute with the washer off. A sink that drains slowly on its own cannot take a washer emptying into it.

Before you open anything
Safety
Water and power both come off first. Shut the valve, pull the plug, and only then move the appliance. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and a wet floor turns a small fault into a serious one.
When this becomes a service call
Where the owner side ends is easy to state. If water has reached the floor and the outlet as well as the drum, isolate the circuit and treat it as an electrical question first.
