The short answer
A BIZT compact refrigerator that runs without cooling should first be checked for the two causes unique to a parcel-delivered appliance: being switched on too soon after transport, and packing left in the airflow path. After those, the ordinary compact-cabinet causes apply — ice on the cold plate, no clearance, and a dial that has been knocked.
What you observe
- It runs from the first day and never gets properly cold — The classic pattern after a cabinet was started too soon after delivery.
- The compressor runs continuously without cycling — It cannot reach the dial setting, so it never rests.
- A thick ice slab on the cold plate — Ice where the design expects a light frost.
- NEAR MISS — nothing runs and no light comes on — That is a power fault rather than a cooling failure.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- Started too soon after transport — First on this platform: with the cabinet laid over in shipping, compressor oil migrates into the tubing, and switching on before it drains back can leave the unit running without cooling. Several hours upright before the first start is the preventable part.
- Packing or wrapping left in place — Second, and easy to miss: foam and film left at the back block the condenser's airflow, so the cabinet cannot reject heat however long it runs.
- Ice over the cold plate — Third, and the usual cause months later. On a manual-defrost cabinet the plate is the cooling surface and ice across it is insulation.
- No clearance, or a dial that has been knocked — Fourth. These cabinets get built into desks and cupboards with no ventilation, and the dial is easy to move while loading.

- Look at the cold plate for ice and check the dial — The standard compact-cabinet causes, in order.
- Feel the condenser at the back while the compressor runs — A condenser that never warms points at the sealed system.

Unplug the refrigerator before defrosting it or working behind it — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never chip or lever ice off the cold plate: the tubing is bonded behind it and a puncture ends the cabinet. Do not run a compact refrigerator sealed into a cupboard without the ventilation opening the manufacturer specifies.
When to call a technician
Contact the supplier rather than a repairer if a newly delivered cabinet never cooled properly from the first day, because that is a delivery and warranty matter and the window for it is short. Call a technician when an established cabinet has been defrosted, has clearance, has a mid-range dial and still will not cool. A condenser that stays cold while the compressor runs points at the sealed system.
