The short answer
Water in or under a BeYou mini refrigerator is condensation from room air, not a supply leak, because there is no water connection. A blocked drain channel and a cabinet that is not sitting flat account for most of it. Water on the outside of the cabinet is room humidity and is not a fault at all.
What you observe
- A pool in the base of the cabinet — Condensation that could not reach the drain.
- Water on the shelf below the cold surface — Frost thawing and dripping, which is normal in small amounts.
- A damp patch on the table or carpet underneath — The tray is overfull, or the cabinet is tilted forward.
- NEAR MISS — water with a cabinet that is not cold — Then the appliance has stopped working and this is the last of its condensation.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A blocked drain channel or hole — First: the channel is small and shallow, and a label, a crumb or a smear of cosmetic product is enough to stop it. The water then collects in the base.
- A cabinet that is not sitting flat — Second, and very common on this format because these units stand on tables, shelves and carpet rather than on a level floor. The drain works by gravity and a forward tilt defeats it.
- A door held open by the contents — Third: more humid air in means more condensation than the small channel was designed to carry, so a marginal drain overflows.
- Condensation on the outside in a humid room — Fourth, and not a fault. A cold cabinet in a warm damp bedroom collects water on its outer surfaces exactly as a cold glass does.
Check in this order, and why
- Decide whether the water is inside or outside the cabinet — Outside means humidity and needs no repair.
- Find and clear the drain channel at the base of the cold surface — It is the likeliest internal cause and takes seconds.
- Check the cabinet sits flat and slightly rearward — On a table or carpet it rarely does without help.
- Check what is touching the door — It explains volume rather than blockage.

Safety
Unplug the cabinet before clearing the drain or drying the interior — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and you will otherwise handle water beside a powered appliance. Never push a sharp probe into the drain; the cooling assembly sits behind that wall. Dry any water that has reached a table, a carpet or a mains lead before it does damage.
When to call a technician
Call, or replace the unit, only when the drain is clear, the cabinet is level, the door closes fully, and water still collects while the cabinet is cooling normally. On an appliance this small there is very little to repair, so ask the price first. A cabinet that is wet and no longer cooling should be dried out and taken out of use.
