The short answer
A BeYou mini refrigerator that is not getting cold is usually being defeated by its own door and its own size: a door held a fraction open by a jar, or a cabinet with nothing inside it heavy enough to keep the cold between openings. Both are free to fix. Clearance and a genuine cooling fault come after those.
What you observe
- The contents are cool but never cold — The cabinet is running and losing ground through the day.
- It runs constantly without ever settling — There is nothing inside to hold the cold, so it never stops working.
- The interior is cold at the back and warm at the front — The door is not sealing and warm air is entering at the front.
- NEAR MISS — nothing runs and no light comes on — That is a power fault rather than a cooling failure.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A door held fractionally open — First on this format: the door is small and magnetically held, and a tall jar or a bottle on a shallow shelf holds it open by an amount you cannot see. Warm air then enters continuously.
- Almost no thermal mass inside — Second, and inherent rather than faulty: with a nearly empty cabinet, every opening warms the whole interior at once, and a cabinet opened often never gets ahead.
- No clearance to reject heat — Third. These cabinets go into cupboards, under desks and behind curtains, and with the rear grille crowded the heat comes straight back into the cabinet.
- A cooling assembly or thermostat fault — Last, and on an appliance this small it is usually a replacement rather than a repair. It is also the least likely of the four.
Check in this order, and why
- Close the door on a strip of paper at several points — A door held open by contents is the leading cause and takes a minute to prove.
- Look at what is inside and how often it is opened — A nearly empty cabinet opened constantly behaves exactly like a faulty one.
- Check the clearance around the rear grille — Crowded, it cannot reject the heat it removes.
- Only then treat it as a cooling fault — On this class that usually means replacing rather than repairing.

Unplug the cabinet before cleaning the rear grille or the gasket — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not run a mini refrigerator inside a cupboard or behind a curtain without clearance; the heat it removes has to leave from the back. Do not rely on a personal cabinet for food safety: a refrigerator holds food safely at forty Fahrenheit, four Celsius, or below, and many units of this class do not reach it.
When to call a technician
Call, or replace the unit, when the door seals, the cabinet has clearance and some thermal mass, and it still will not get cold after a full day. On an appliance this small a service visit often costs more than a replacement, so ask before committing. Anything perishable should be moved out now rather than after a verdict.
