Before you open anything
Safety
Never defeat a door interlock or a safety switch to keep an appliance running, and stop at the first step that would put a meter on live terminals. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
Where the owner fix ends
Call a technician when the leak comes from under the centre of the machine, when the tub fills past the door line, or when the door still leaks with a clean, correctly seated gasket and the correct detergent. Those are pump-seal, float and tub conditions.
