What goes wrong, and where to read about it
- Lighting and control panel faults — Interior lighting and panel faults are inconvenient rather than urgent, and they rarely affect food safety. It has no page of its own on this line; the opening move is to check whether the cabinet is still holding temperature before treating it as urgent.
- Door seals that no longer hold — Warm air entering past a tired gasket makes the compressor run longer and frosts the evaporator sooner. The symptom people notice is a wet cabinet edge. Nothing else here is devoted to it. Start by doing this much: close the door on a strip of paper at four points and see whether it pulls out freely.

What is most likely, and why
- Lighting and control panel faults — First — and it is not close. Interior lighting and panel faults are inconvenient rather than urgent, and they rarely affect food safety.
- Water leaking or pooling — Second, and common. Clear water at the door line on a roughly daily rhythm, or standing water under the crisper drawers. It is the defrost drain in nearly every case.
- Ice maker not working — Third most likely. No ice, or small hollow cubes. Both point upstream of the mould rather than at it.
