The short answer
An ice complaint on a Beko BUFR column running as a refrigerator has two quite different readings, and the model code decides which. The code ending in IM is the ice-maker build and takes a water supply; the plain codes do not. On a cabinet held at fridge temperatures, an ice complaint on a plain code is almost always frost where there should be none.
What you observe
- Frost on the rear wall of a cabinet running at fridge temperatures — It should not be there: either the setting is too cold or air is leaking in.
- Food freezing against the rear wall — The same cause, showing before the frost does.
- Hollow or undersized cubes on the IM code — Water arriving too slowly - supply pressure, a shut-off, or a tired valve.
- Ice building around the drain opening — A blocked drain refreezing its own meltwater.
- NEAR MISS - water on the floor rather than ice inside — The drain route overflowing; the water-leak page covers it.
Causes, most likely first on this family
- Cabinet set colder than it needs to be — First on a fridge-temperature column, and the reason frost appears at all in a compartment that should not make any.
- Full-height door racked and admitting air — Second, and the other route by which moisture gets in continuously.
- Slow or restricted water supply on the IM code — Third, and the leading ice-maker complaint on this configuration.
- Blocked drain refreezing meltwater — Fourth, and the fault that becomes a leak complaint if left.
- Defrost cycle not keeping up — Last, and less likely here than on the same cabinet run as a freezer.
Check in this order, and why
- Check the setting and what changed recently — First, because frost in a fridge-temperature column is usually a setting rather than a failure.
- Test the door with paper at the bottom corner and the top — Second. Grip at the top with release at the bottom is a racked door.
- Read your code for the IM suffix — Third. Only one code in the table can have an ice-maker fault at all.
- On the IM code, check the supply shut-off is fully open — Fourth. A partly closed valve produces hollow cubes before anything else.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Shut the water supply off before disturbing any fill line. Never chip frost off a liner or an evaporator with a metal tool - the tubing behind punctures easily.

When to call a technician
Call when frost returns in a cabinet whose setting is correct and whose door seals, because that points at the defrost system. Call also when a fill valve or a supply restriction cannot be cleared at an accessible shut-off.
