Water around the BBMB line is meltwater that has stopped leaving by its intended route, and the route is short: evaporator, drain, hose, tray. Nothing on that list needs a part in most cases.
What owners actually see
- Damp or frost on the rear wall of the fresh-food side — Across the models this page covers, warm humid air entering past a tired gasket condenses and then freezes, which produces water without any drain fault at all.
- Water appears only after a very warm day — Humidity loads the evaporator and produces more meltwater than usual, which finds any partial restriction in the drain.
- A trickling sound followed by water at the front — Meltwater finding a path it should not be taking, usually because the drain is partly closed rather than fully blocked. That is true of every model this family spans.

Ranked causes on this line
- A blocked defrost drain — First on the BBMB line by a wide margin. The drain is deliberately small to limit air movement, and a plug of ice or food debris at its entry backs the whole daily defrost load into the compartment. It is the same on all the models in the table on this page.
- A door gasket that no longer seals — Second because warm humid air admitted continuously condenses inside the cabinet and overloads the drain even when the drain is clear. It also causes the frost that eventually blocks it. It does not vary across the models listed on this page.
- A drip tray out of position or overflowing — The tray is designed to evaporate what the drain delivers. Knocked out of place when the cabinet was moved, it delivers the same water onto the floor instead.
- A leaking water supply line or its connection — The only part of the appliance under pressure at rest, which is why it is the cause when water appears behind a cabinet that has not been running.
- A defrost system fault producing excess meltwater — Last because it presents as a drain problem and is not one: the drain is clear and simply cannot keep up. Confirming it needs the evaporator inspected behind the freezer panel.
The diagnostic order
- Find where the water actually appears — First on the BBMB line because under the drawers, behind the cabinet and on the floor are three different faults, and the location separates them without any tool. This applies to the whole line rather than to one model.
- Clear the defrost drain opening — Second: it is at the base of the freezer rear wall or behind the crisper, and warm water plus a soft flexible line clears the usual plug in minutes.
- Check the door seal with a sheet of paper — Third, because a gasket that no longer grips loads the cabinet with humidity continuously and will refill the drain as fast as you clear it. The models in the table behave the same way here.
- Time the puddle against the defrost cycle — Water that appears only after a defrost is drain water; water that appears at any time is supply water, and the two are entirely different jobs.
- Look behind the cabinet for a drain hose off its stub — The hose is a push fit and a move knocks it off, which sends meltwater to the floor with a clear drain and nothing blocked.

Switch off at the breaker before any panel is removed. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Mop the floor first, because standing water under a heavy cabinet makes a slip more likely than the leak itself.
