The short answer
Dishes coming out of the DDT line still soiled is nearly always a water problem rather than a detergent problem: either the spray is not reaching the load, or the water reaching it is not hot enough or not deep enough. Both are checkable in one cycle. The detergent is worth changing only after the spray path has been cleared. The name covers a long run of model numbers, so treat the ranking below as the pattern for the platform and the table as the authority on which machine you actually have.
What you observe on these models
- A chalky white film on glasses and the tub — Hard-water scale or too little detergent for the hardness, rather than a mechanical fault.
- Food redeposited evenly as a thin layer — The filter is fouled and the machine is recirculating what it washed off, which looks like bad cleaning but is bad filtering.
- Plates come out barely warm — The water is not reaching wash temperature, so grease is smeared rather than dissolved.
- One quadrant of the load is clean and the rest is not — A tall item or a handle hanging through the rack is stopping an arm from turning past a certain point.
- NEAR MISS — everything is clean but wet — That is a drying complaint and belongs on a different page; the wash itself is working.
Causes, most likely first on the DDT line
- Fouled filter recirculating soil — First, and the cheapest to rule out. A dishwasher washes with the same water for most of the cycle, so the filter is what keeps that water usable; once it is blinded, the machine paints soil back onto the load.
- Blocked or obstructed spray arms — Next most likely on these models. An arm that cannot complete a turn washes an arc rather than a circle, and the owner reads the untouched arc as a weak machine.
- Wash water not reaching temperature — Third — worth checking once the two above are clean. A weak or failed heating element produces exactly the same result on every cycle, which is what separates it from a plumbing-side cold fill.
Check in this order, and why
- Remove the filter and look at the sump beneath — If the mesh is greasy rather than merely dirty, wash it in hot water with detergent — rinsing under a cold tap does not clear fat.
- Take both arms out and hold them up to the light — Every jet should show daylight. Clear the blocked ones with a pin, then refit and spin each arm by hand to confirm a full free turn.
- Run the hot tap at the sink before starting a cycle — Run it until it is properly hot, then start the machine. If cleaning improves on that cycle alone, the problem is the first fill, not the appliance.

Switch the machine off at its breaker before a panel comes off or a hand goes into the sump — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Shut the supply valve under the sink before disturbing a fitting, and never wedge the door interlock to watch a wash run.

When to call a technician
The owner side of the line is everything reachable with the door open. The service side is the heating circuit, the circulation pump and the fill valve on the DDT line. If you have run the same soiled load twice with a clear spray path and it failed both times, stop repeating it and get the water temperature and the fill level measured.
