The short answer for C models
A door fault on an Avanti C microwave is the one microwave problem that is never cosmetic. The door, its seal face and the interlock switches behind the latch are what contain the energy inside the cabinet, so a door that no longer closes square, or a latch that has to be helped, is a reason to stop using the oven rather than to work around it.
What the owner sees
- The door has to be pressed or lifted before the oven will run — The latch hooks are no longer aligning with their switches.
