The short answer
Artt freezers fail predominantly through seals, frost build-up and defrost faults, all of which degrade slowly and all of which are visible if anybody looks. The urgent class is anything that stops the cabinet holding at 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below, and the practical defence against it is a thermometer that somebody reads.
What you actually see
- Contents softening or partly thawed — Urgent. Check the temperature and the seal before assuming the worst.
- Heavy frost or ice build-up — A seal admitting humid air, or a defrost fault behind it.
- The cabinet running constantly — Working and losing, which is either capacity or a leak.
- Water on the floor — A blocked drain, or ice that has begun to melt.
- Nothing running at all — Supply first: freezers are often on garage or utility sockets.
- A lid or door that no longer closes flush — Frost on the seal channel, or a hinge that has dropped.
The ranking that matters
- Door or lid seal — First, and it produces frost, then constant running, then a warming cabinet.
- Frost and defrost faults — Second, and it narrows airflow in frost-free designs.
- Ambient conditions — Third, since so many freezers live in garages and outbuildings.
- Supply and control — Fourth, and it is the class that fails suddenly rather than gradually.
- Sealed system — Last, uncommon, and expensive.
Fault distribution on this machine
General guidance| Problem class | Speed of onset | Owner-fixable? |
|---|---|---|
| Seals | slow | yes — clean, adjust or replace |
| Frost and defrost | slow | a manual defrost is owner work |
| Ambient conditions | seasonal | yes — placement |
| Supply and control | sudden | supply yes, control no |
| Sealed system | sudden or gradual | no |

The line for a service call
Defrosting the cabinet, cleaning the seal channel, clearing the drain and checking the socket are owner jobs and they cover most of this list. Call when the cabinet cannot hold at 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below with all of that done, and call quickly, because a freezer's contents are the expensive part. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, and never chip ice off an evaporator with anything sharp.

Where this page stops
This page is generalized across Artt freezers and is family-agnostic. It names no models, capacities, ambient ratings or part references, because those differ between builds sold under this badge and chest and upright designs differ from each other as well. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit it is the more precise answer. Placement, ventilation and the supply circuit belong to the installation rather than to the appliance.
