The short answer
Most ARTT complaints are about drying performance, and most of those are about the room rather than the machine. A small ventless dryer in a closed, humid, cool room reaches a point where it cannot remove any more moisture, and the load stops getting drier. Load type comes second, filters third. Component failures are uncommon.
The problems that actually happen, by what you observe
- Load stops getting drier partway through — The room has taken all the moisture it can hold. Open a door or a window and it resumes.
- Cycle finishes with towels and denim still wet — Heavy cotton is the hardest thing for a small dryer to handle, and the least suited to it.
- Windows fogging and the room feeling damp — The machine is working: that is the moisture leaving the clothes.
- Machine warm but cycle times climbing — Filter loaded, or the intake pressed against a wall or furniture.
- Clothes hot and creased rather than dry — Too much in the drum. Small drums need space far more than large ones do.
- Plug or outlet warm after a cycle — The electrical class, and it belongs on the portable-dryer electrical page.
Problem classes in frequency order on this brand
- Room humidity and air exchange — First on a ventless mini dryer, and the reason two identical machines perform differently in two rooms. The moisture removed from the clothes is released into the room; once that room is saturated the drying simply stops. A cracked window or an open door changes the result more than any repair could.
- Load type and load size — Second. These machines suit light, small loads — underwear, shirts, baby clothes — and struggle with towels, denim and bedding. A packed drum makes it worse because nothing tumbles.
- Filter and intake restriction — Third. Small filters load within a few cycles, and an intake against a wall starves the machine of the air it needs to carry moisture away.
- Room temperature — Fourth. A cold room lowers the whole process: colder incoming air holds less moisture, so cycle times climb in an unheated space even with everything else right.
- Heater, thermal protection and motor faults — Last. A machine that tumbles without warming at all is a genuine fault, but it is a small minority of what gets reported.
Which of these an owner can fix
Ventilating the room, drying smaller and lighter loads, cleaning the filter every few cycles, and giving the machine clear air at its intake fix the large majority of complaints and cost nothing. Call a technician when the drum turns and the machine never warms, when it stops early with clear filters and an open room, or when there is a burning smell from the cabinet. On a machine at this price it is worth comparing a repair quote with a replacement before booking.

What this page does not cover
This page is generalized across ARTT dryer families and model lines, and the ranking assumes a ventless machine; hose-vented models behave differently and are closer to the portable vented pattern. Capacities, filter types and heater fitment differ by family and belong on the family page where one exists. The per-problem pages below are the level beneath this one.
