Ariston Dryer: Water Leak
A dryer that leaks is nearly always a condenser or heat-pump machine, because those are the ones that hold water. The leak comes from the tank, the pump path, the condenser seals or a drain hose, and where the water appears — front, base or back — narrows it immediately. Ariston is an European mainstream brand on shared group platforms: conventional layouts, compact European dimensions, well covered by documentation. Reseating a tank, cleaning condenser seals and checking a hose are owner work. Anything requiring the base of the machine to be opened is not.
What the owner actually observes
- Water appears at the front of the machine, below the door or the condenser hatch.
- Water pools under the back of the machine near the hose connection.
- The water container drips as it is removed, or leaks when it sits in place.
- Water runs down the inside of the door glass and out onto the floor.
- On a vented machine, water runs back out of the duct connection at the rear.

- Read what the machine is telling you. - Stop condition: Stop before opening the base of the machine to reach the sump or internal hoses; the machine has to be laid over or dismantled and there are live components inside.

When to call a technician
The line is any leak whose source is inside the cabinet. Call if the leak continues after the condenser seal, the tank and the hose connections have all been checked. Call if water is coming from the base of the machine rather than from a visible seal or connection. Call if the machine is a heat-pump model and water is appearing anywhere other than the tank. Call if flooring beneath the machine has been wet for some time, since the damage may extend beyond the appliance.
