Ariston Dryer: Abnormal Noise or Vibration
Dryer noise comes from the parts that carry the drum — the rollers or wheels it rides on, the glide strips at its front, the idler pulley that tensions the belt and the blower wheel — and each of them makes a characteristic sound. Ariston is an European mainstream brand on shared group platforms: conventional layouts, compact European dimensions, well covered by documentation. Emptying pockets, levelling the machine and checking the blower for coins are owner work. Rollers, glides and belts are not.
What the owner actually observes
- A rhythmic thump or rumble that keeps pace with the drum turning.
- A high squeal or shriek that appears as the machine gets up to speed.
- A rattle or clatter that changes when the load shifts.
- A scraping or grinding that comes from the front of the drum where it meets the cabinet.
- A loud clicking that stops if the machine is rocked slightly on its feet.

When to call a technician
The line is any noise whose source is inside the cabinet. Call if the noise keeps exact time with the drum, which points at rollers or glides. Call if there is a rising squeal, which usually means the idler pulley. Call if the noise is accompanied by a burning smell or by the drum becoming hard to turn by hand. Call if a hard object has gone through the drum seal into the blower housing, since reaching it means opening the machine.
