The answer first
The Arctic Wind MAV washer family covers two listings in the roster below, and on that platform the door interlock accounts for more of these than anything else. A washer that will not start is either not getting power, not being allowed to start, or not being asked to start, and those three are separated by what the machine does when you press the button. Where the machine lights up and hums without the drum moving, that is a different fault from one that does nothing at all.
The observables
- No lights, no display, nothing at all — The machine is not getting power, or it is getting power and its supply components have failed.
- It started working again after being left switched off — A control that has locked up and been reset by a long power-off, or a thermal device that has cooled.
- The machine starts normally on a different programme — A dead programme rather than a dead machine, which points at the selector or at the function that programme uses and the others do not.
- NEAR MISS — it starts, fills and stalls — A machine that begins a cycle is not a no-start fault at all; work the stalled-cycle page, because the condition it is waiting for is what stopped it.
Causes, most likely first on the MAV line

- Read the panel before pressing anything again — Look for a child-lock symbol, a delay indicator, and whether the selected programme has simply ended.
- Listen at the door lock as start is pressed — A click means the lock is being energised and the machine is proceeding. Silence at the lock with a lit panel points at the lock, its wiring or the output that drives it.

Test the socket with another appliance before the machine is moved, then unplug it before any panel comes off — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. A machine that hums without moving is drawing current into something that cannot turn, so switch it off rather than retrying. Where the owner side ends
Call when the panel lights, the door latches audibly, the load is light and the machine still does nothing on every programme, because the remaining suspects are all inside. Stop immediately if the machine hums without moving: leave it off rather than retrying, because that state draws current into a part that cannot do anything with it.
