What to check first, second and third
- Find the shut-off valve behind or under the cabinet and confirm it is fully open — Then follow the line for kinks where the cabinet has been pushed back against it. Done first because it separates the likeliest causes before any tool is needed.
- Look at the shut-off arm or sensor window and the seating of the bin — Second: it confirms or dismisses what the first check suggested.
- Check when the filter was last changed and run the dispenser into a jug — Third, once the two checks above are clean.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, and shut the water off at the supply valve before disconnecting anything — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the ice maker harness runs alongside water fittings. Where owner work ends
Call once the valve, the line, the filter and the freezer temperature are all confirmed and there is still no ice. Call at once if the supply line is weeping at a fitting, because a slow leak behind a cabinet does its damage out of sight.
