The short answer
On the Arctic Wind ATMB refrigerator line, an ice maker that has stopped is worth working through in a set order: a supply that is off, restricted or frozen at the inlet first, then a clogged water filter or a failing inlet valve, and only after those does the sealed system enter the picture. That order is written for a line spanning several cabinet sizes and sequenced for how these models are put together, which is where it departs from the brand-generic article.
What you observe
- No ice at all, and the dispenser gives little or no water either — Ice and water failing together puts the fault on the shared supply rather than in the ice maker.
- Cubes are small, hollow or misshapen — Correct cycling on insufficient water. The mechanism is working; the water is not arriving.
- NEAR MISS — there is water in the bottom of the freezer — A fill that overshoots or a drain that has frozen is a leak question and has its own page.
Causes, most likely first on the ATMB line
- The water supply is off, restricted or frozen at the inlet — The first thing to suspect: an ice maker is a water appliance before it is anything else, and a shut-off valve someone closed, a kinked line behind the cabinet or a line frozen where it enters the freezer stops production completely with nothing wrong inside the machine.
- A clogged water filter or a failing inlet valve — A tired filter or a weak inlet valve starves the mould, which shows up as small or hollow cubes rather than as no ice at all.
- The freezer is not cold enough to harvest — Freezer temperature is the last simple explanation before the mechanism itself, and the easiest of them to measure.
- The ice maker module, its heater or the wiring to it — Last here, and the only cause on this list that is not owner work — a module that will not cycle, a harvest heater that has failed or a broken connection to the freezer harness is replacement work behind a panel, with the power off and the part matched to the cabinet.
Check in this order, and why
- Find the shut-off valve behind or under the cabinet and confirm it is fully open — Then follow the line for kinks where the cabinet has been pushed back against it. Done first because it separates the likeliest causes before any tool is needed.
- Check when the filter was last changed and run the dispenser into a jug — Second: it confirms or dismisses what the first check suggested.
- Measure the freezer temperature rather than trusting the display — Third, once the two checks above are clean.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel, and shut the water off at the supply valve before disconnecting anything — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the ice maker harness runs alongside water fittings. Never thaw a frozen fill tube with a naked flame or a heat gun; warm water and time are the correct tools.

When to call a technician
Call when water reaches the mould, the freezer is genuinely cold and nothing ever ejects, because that is the module and it is replaced behind a panel. Call sooner if you find water anywhere it should not be while you are looking.
