The short answer
When the Arctic Wind ABMK refrigerator keeps the cabinet cold but makes no ice, the fault is almost never the refrigeration. Ice needs water, a cold enough compartment and a mechanism that is switched on and not jammed, and those three are checked in that order.
What you see on the ABMK line
- Cubes are small, hollow or misshapen — Water is arriving but not enough of it, which is a restriction rather than a stoppage.
- A sheet of ice under the ice maker rather than in it — The classic signature of a fill tube that froze before the mould filled.
- A buzz every few hours with no water following it — The valve is being asked to open and nothing is getting through.
- NEAR MISS - the whole cabinet is warm — Ice is the least of it: work the cooling failure first and the ice maker will follow.

- Water filter overdue or wrongly seated — Most likely here: It is the most common slow-decline cause and the easiest to test, because a correctly seated fresh cartridge either fixes it or clears it from the list. Check in this order, and why
- First - Check the filter age and reseat the cartridge — A cartridge that turns to a positive stop is seated; one that stops soft is not, and the flow tells you which. That is the order the roster on this page dictates, not a generic sequence.
- Second - Check that the freezer compartment is genuinely at its normal temperature — Ice cream soft rather than hard is the informal test, and it moves this cause to the top of the list immediately.
- Third - Note whether you hear a fill buzz at any point during the day — A buzz with no water is a valve or a supply fault; complete silence points at the module and ends the checks.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before reaching behind the ice maker or removing any panel - a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never clear a frozen fill tube with a screwdriver, a knife or a hot-air gun: the tube and the mould beneath it are easily punctured and the evaporator is close behind. Warm water on a cloth is the only tool this job needs.

When to call a technician
Call when the cabinet itself is not holding temperature, because an ice maker is only ever as good as the compartment around it and chasing the mechanism while the freezer is warm wastes a visit. Otherwise call once the supply side is proven and the bin is still empty, which is the point at which this stops being a plumbing question.
