Water at or under the AUFM refrigerator family almost always comes from one of three places: the defrost drain, condensation from air leaking past a door, or a supply connection on a plumbed model. - Level the cabinet front to back and side to side — A cabinet that leans sends interior water to the wrong place and turns a small pan leak into a visible one.
- Close the water shut-off for a day if the cabinet is plumbed — A leak that stops with the valve closed is a supply leak, and that is the one that needs attention today.

Isolate the cabinet at the plug or the breaker before working, especially with water on the floor. Close the water shut-off before a fitting is disturbed. Mop the floor before moving the machine, because a loaded refrigerator on a wet floor moves further than expected and these cabinets are heavy enough to need two people. Water alone does not spoil food, but a drain that has been blocked for weeks is not clean. Discard anything that has been sitting in the pooled water and clean the base before reloading.
