The observable symptoms

The likely causes in order on an AOG refrigerator

Check the ice maker arm or switch first, then follow the line back to the household valve. This one comes first because ruling it out is free and it accounts for the largest share of cases.

Power comes off before any panel comes off. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never work on the sealed system: refrigerant handling needs a licensed technician and recovery equipment.
When to call a technician
Arms, valves, filters, bin sensors and a frozen fill tube are owner work; a failed inlet valve, module or mold heater is a parts-and-meter job. Beyond that point another owner test adds nothing that a technician will not measure directly.
