What this means on these models

What you observe

Causes, most likely first on the H line
- Lid or door latch not confirming — Ranked first on the H line because seven model numbers is enough of a span that two units with the same badge can differ in what is fitted — the latch gates everything, it wears with every closure, and a striker that has shifted a millimetre stops the machine completely.
- Control lock or a paused or delayed programme — Second because a lock or a delay is free to check, instantly reversible, and accounts for a large share of calls where nothing is actually wrong.

Safety
Switch the machine off at the breaker or unplug it before any panel comes off; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not test a suspect socket by holding a plug part-inserted, and do not run the machine from an extension lead — a washer draws too much for most of them and a warm lead is a warning rather than an inconvenience.
