The short answer
Separate expected moisture from collected water. On an Allavino cabinet, misting inside is normal because humidity is held on purpose. Water that stands and runs points at a blocked drain — note which zone, because each drains separately. Condensation on the outer pane comes third, a dropped door fourth, and only a liner or tray failure needs a technician.
What you observe
- Misting on the inside of the glass — Expected. The cabinet holds humidity on purpose.
- Water standing at the back of one zone — That zone's drain is blocked.
- Beads on the outside of the door — Room moisture on a cold pane.
- The door sits low or gaps at one corner — Damp air entering continuously.
- NEAR MISS — a little water in a rear channel — Normal drainage on its way out.
Causes, most likely first on this class
- Humidity held on purpose, condensing inside — First because it is designed behaviour that reads as a fault. A cabinet built to protect corks keeps moisture in the air, so misting and beading inside are what a healthy unit looks like.
- One zone's drain channel blocked — Second, and the dual-zone detail that matters: each zone drains through its own small channel, so water standing in one zone and not the other tells you exactly which channel to clear.
- Condensation on the outer pane running to the plinth — Third: a cold glass door in a warm humid room sheds water down the outside, which pools at the front and looks like a leak from below.
- Door dropped, or a liner or tray failure — Last: a heavy glass door settles and gaps, feeding damp air in. A failed tray or liner is uncommon and needs a technician to confirm.
Check in this order, and why
- Decide whether the moisture collects or merely mists — Free, and it separates normal from faulty.
- Note which zone holds standing water — Each zone drains separately, so this narrows the job.
- Clear that zone's drain channel and hole — The top cause of water that actually collects.
- Close the door on paper at each corner — Left until here because a seal check needs the rest ruled out.
What an owner can safely check
- Wipe the inner glass and see whether misting returns — Returning mist alone is normal for this class.

- Unload each zone and look at the rear channel — Record which zone is holding water.
Tools: torchAbout 25 min
- Flush that zone's drain hole with warm water — Soft brush only; never a metal tool or a wire.
Tools: warm water, soft brushAbout 30 min
- Close the door on a sheet of paper at each corner — It should drag everywhere. A free corner is a dropped door.
About 15 min
- STOP HERE if water returns with a clear drain and a good seal — Liner and tray work is a service call.
Before you open anything
Safety
Isolate the cabinet at its spur or unplug it before clearing a drain or removing the grille; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and a built-in appliance is often fed from a socket hidden behind cabinetry. Water under a plinth reaches that socket and the units around it, so dry the floor first. Never poke a drain with a metal tool, and get help before moving a loaded cabinet.
When to call a technician
Call when a zone's drain runs clear, the door seals all round and water still collects in that zone — the liner or the evaporation tray is then the answer, and which zone it is will be the first thing they ask. Call a kitchen fitter instead if water has been running under the plinth long enough to swell the surrounding units. Isolate the cabinet if water reaches a socket.

What this page does not cover
This page is written for the brand and the appliance class, not for one family or model line. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit, that page is the more specific answer and you should start there. Deliberately absent: humidity ranges, drain and tray dimensions, seal and hinge part identifiers and fault-code meanings, all of which differ between the single-zone, dual-zone and built-in families.
