The short answer
Unplug a leaking countertop Airmsen and dry the worktop first, because the water is near sockets. Then check the tap adapter: it is the joint made and broken every use, and it accounts for most leaks on this class. The inlet connection at the machine is second, foam third, and the door seal or an internal fitting last.
What you observe
- A drip or spray at the tap collar while it fills — The adapter washer is displaced or cross-threaded.
- Water tracking along the inlet hose — It started at the tap and ran to the low point.
- Water at the front, under the door line — A hardened or fouled door seal.
- Suds visible through the door — Wrong detergent or far too much of it.
- NEAR MISS — water standing inside the tub at the end — That is a drainage fault, and a different page.
Causes, most likely first on this class
- Tap adapter not sealing — First because it is the only joint disturbed every single use. A washer that has shifted, perished or been over-tightened weeps under mains pressure the whole time the machine fills.
- Inlet connection at the machine — Second, and easy to confuse with the first: water from either end runs along the hose and pools at the lowest point, so the wet patch is not where the leak is.
- Excess foam from the wrong detergent — Third, and free to prove with one correct-dose cycle. Foam climbs the tub wall and rides over the door seal regardless of how good that seal is.
- Door seal or an internal fitting — Last. A hardened seal leaks at the front during the wash, and a fitting inside the cabinet is the one case that needs a technician.
Check in this order, and why
- Unplug the machine and dry the worktop — Not a diagnostic step. Do this before anything else.
- Watch the tap collar during the fill — Free, and it is the top cause on this class.
- Follow the hose and find the lowest wet point — Water tracks, so the pool is not the source.
- Run one cycle with the correct detergent dose — Left until here because it is quick to prove.
What an owner can safely check
- Unplug at the socket and dry the whole surface — Include anything else plugged in nearby.
Tools: towelAbout 10 min
- Remove the adapter, check the washer and refit it square — Hand tight and straight. Never force it.
About 20 min
- Dry the hose, run a fill and watch both ends — Note which end wets first.
Tools: clothAbout 20 min
- Run a cycle with the correct dose and no additive — If the leak stops, foam was the cause.
About 60 min
- STOP HERE if water appears from the base of the machine — Internal fittings are a service call.

Safety
Unplug the machine before touching it and dry the worktop, including any other appliance leads on that surface; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Water spreading on a counter reaches sockets faster than anyone expects, which makes that the hazard to deal with before the leak itself. Turn the tap off before removing the adapter.
When to call a technician
Call when the adapter seals, the hose ends are dry, the detergent is right and water still appears from the machine — the door seal or an internal fitting is then the answer. Ask about replacement cost at the same time, because on a countertop machine an internal repair often exceeds the value of the unit. Unplug it if water reaches a socket or a lead.

What this page does not cover
This page is written for the brand and the appliance class, not for one family or model line. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit, that page is the more specific answer and you should start there. Deliberately absent: adapter thread sizes, washer and seal part identifiers, hose dimensions and fault-code meanings, all of which differ between the tap-connected, tank-fill and plumbed families.
