The short answer for the VX models
On the AcoPower VX refrigerator models, an ice supply that has stopped or gone wrong still leads to the same place as the brand-generic article: a box with no ice maker to fail. What changes here is what sits behind it — the ice-maker module or its motor comes up to second, because the two codes in this family share a platform, so a cause that is real on one is real on both.
What you observe on these models
- No ice at all, and the tray or the mould is dry — Nothing is arriving, which points at the supply rather than at the freezing.
- Cubes are hollow, small or half formed — Water is arriving but not enough of it, or not for long enough.
- The cubes have fused into one solid block in the bin — They melted slightly and refroze, which means the compartment is drifting warm and then recovering.
- NEAR MISS — there is water on the floor as well as no ice — A supply fitting that is leaking is a water-leak page problem first.
Causes, most likely first on the VX family
- A box with no ice maker to fail — A portable compressor cooler freezes what you put into it; it has no fill valve, no mould and no harvest arm. Ranked first on the VX models.
- The ice-maker module or its motor — A module that will not cycle, or a mould heater that will not release the cubes, needs a meter and a teardown to separate from everything above it. Second.
- The bin, the auger or the chute — Ice made and not delivered looks exactly like ice never made, right up until you take the bin out and look in it. Third.
- The fill valve itself — A valve that no longer opens, or one that no longer closes and so overfills. Last, and that is the point of the order.
- Body: The spine for the VX family records two model codes that share their stem and differ only in what follows it, so the two behave as one platform for this fault. Where this departs from the brand-generic ordering: the cause that moves up to second on these models is this one — the ice-maker module or its motor — while the brand-generic lead keeps the top.
Check in this order on the VX models, and why
- Set the box to its freezer range empty and measure it after a few hours — First: It is the only measurement that means anything here, because there is no ice-making mechanism to test separately.
- Check the supply line and the shut-off valve behind the cabinet — Second: A valve half closed during a previous job is common, and a kinked line behind a pushed-back cabinet is commoner still.
- Empty the bin and look at what is in the bottom of it — Third: Fused cubes and loose water in the bin are both diagnostic, and both are invisible until it comes out.

Safety
Unplug the cabinet or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off and the fan can start without warning. The sealed system is not owner work: refrigerant is under pressure and the tubing is thin. While the cabinet is warm, a refrigerator holds food safely at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 4 degrees Celsius, or below.

When to call a technician
Call once the freezer is measurably cold enough, the arm is down, the line is clear and the bin is empty and there is still no ice — at that point the fault is in the module, the mould heater or the fill valve, all of which need a meter behind a panel. Call sooner if you find water dripping from the supply fitting, because a slow leak behind a cabinet damages the floor long before anybody notices it. On the VX models the line sits where the check stops being one you can make from outside the cabinet. Before booking anything, repeat the test on a wall outlet.
