The short answer for the PX models
On the AcoPower PX refrigerator models, an ice supply that has stopped or gone wrong still leads to the same place as the brand-generic article: a box with no ice maker to fail. What changes here is what sits behind it — the freezer is not cold enough to harvest comes up to second, because this family is a short run on a common stem, so its behaviour is consistent in a way the brand as a whole is not.
What you observe on these models
- There is a slab of ice under the ice mould — An overfill or a slow drip has frozen where it landed.
- The shut-off arm or the switch is in the off position — It gets knocked up by a bag of frozen peas more often than anyone admits.
- Ice production has slowed rather than stopped — A partial restriction gives you some ice, just never enough to keep up.
- NEAR MISS — the whole cabinet is warm as well — If nothing in the cabinet is cold, the ice is a symptom and the cooling page is the right one.
Causes, most likely first on the PX family
- A box with no ice maker to fail — A portable compressor cooler freezes what you put into it; it has no fill valve, no mould and no harvest arm. Ranked first on the PX models.
- The freezer is not cold enough to harvest — An ice maker will not release a cube it has not frozen hard. Second.
- There is no automatic ice maker to fail — Many compact cabinets make ice in a tray in a small freezer compartment. Third.
- The fill valve itself — A valve that no longer opens, or one that no longer closes and so overfills. Last, and that is the point of the order.
- Body: The spine for the PX family records 3 model codes built on a common stem — a short run rather than a long one, which is why a single ordering covers all of them. Where this departs from the brand-generic ordering: the cause that moves up to second on these models is this one — the freezer is not cold enough to harvest — while the brand-generic lead keeps the top.
Check in this order on the PX models, and why
- Set the box to its freezer range empty and measure it after a few hours — First: It is the only measurement that means anything here, because there is no ice-making mechanism to test separately.
- Empty the bin and look at what is in the bottom of it — Second: Fused cubes and loose water in the bin are both diagnostic, and both are invisible until it comes out.
- Establish first whether the cabinet has an automatic ice maker at all — Third: Look for a fill tube and a shut-off arm.

Safety
Isolate the cabinet first: pull the plug or switch the breaker off before any panel comes away, because a capacitor can still hold a charge and the fan behind the panel can start on its own. Leave refrigerant work alone entirely — the tubing is thin and the system is under pressure. Move perishable food to a cooler with ice; safe storage is 40 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 4 degrees Celsius, or below.

When to call a technician
Call once the freezer is measurably cold enough, the arm is down, the line is clear and the bin is empty and there is still no ice — at that point the fault is in the module, the mould heater or the fill valve, all of which need a meter behind a panel. Call sooner if you find water dripping from the supply fitting, because a slow leak behind a cabinet damages the floor long before anybody notices it. On the PX models the line sits where the check stops being one you can make from outside the cabinet. Before booking anything, repeat the test on a wall outlet.
